{ It's in the mail! }

Since I finally am able to get the images in the mail to this bride, I can finally share with you some of the images from her Extreme Bridal Session. Thank you Jenn for being so patient through my computer crashing, my emails disappearing and just general slowness of me getting work done through the summer with my kids home.

I always hate to share more than a sneak peek when it comes to sessions, until the customer is able to have it in their hands and then their wait isn't so bad (unless you are Jenn, who got more than her share of waiting for this one). So Jenn, watch your mailbox on Tuesday!

I have too many favorites to show just one, so here's the story of Jenn's session.

Jenn took me up on a free Extreme Bridal Session that I offered last spring. We had to put it off for about a month because of the late spring and cold weather. When we first went out, the idea was to play in the water of Nine Mile Creek in Bloomington MN, but then when we were in the neighborhood and saw the construction equipment just sitting there... it begged to be played on!

Then one the way down to the creek we went out and played in the road... check out those red HOT boots! She was getting traffics attention!

And in the end we ended up down in the Nine Mile Creek in Bloomington. The weather couldn't have been more cooperative and the water was a great temperature! Sadly enough, my jeans got soaked enough to put my cell phone out of commission, but hey! Sometimes art needs sacrifice!

Now is the time!

Now is the time to be thinking about Christmas portraits. Before the weather gets too chilly make your apointment!

Don't forget to ask about having custom cards created!

New Pricing

Hi! Some of you may have noticed that I've increased my sitting fees considerably, beginning in the month of September for new appointments. If you have an existing appointment the price that was being charged when you made your appointment will be honored.

This increase became necessary in the beginning of September when I changed the model of my business. Prices for prints have not been affected.

Also in the beginning of September I've begun using a new print lab, which I am sure everyone will be pleased with. I never cease to strive to offer the best of everything when it comes to my clients.

I've also started offering proof books with each paid session, which I believe will be a big hit with you. It's a 4x6 ring bound booklet with a frosted cover that contains a 4x6 bordered print with your images on each page. These are not included in wedding packages.

Celebrate!

I love it when people let their hair down and are willing to play around when being shot. I think it makes this shot much more fun and enjoyable... you can't help but smile when you see their excitement.

So the next time your photographer asks you to do something, and you're not quite sure about it... try it! You might really like the outcome!

Kindergarten

Ok, I admit it.... mornings are not the best part of the day for me. And the beginning of the week is worse than the end. So when Tuesday came last week and it was my kids first day of school, my mind was still sitting back on the back burner keeping warm and toasty in sleep. I totally forgot to get out the camera for when my 1st grader went off to school, even though I excitedly sat with him at his bus stop (I did get a really great picture of him last year when he started Kindergarten).

Later in the day my brain woke up and said, "HELLO!?" And this year I got a really great picture of his sister going off to Kindergarten, of course she too is an afternoon Kindergartner. (Afternoon=awake.)

Maybe that's where our tradition lies.... really great Kindergarten pictures and that's about it, because my oldest didn't get his picture taken this year when he started the 10th grade either, but I have some really cute pictures of him at his bus stop waiting for the Kindergarten bus.

So I guess it's a new tradition. Traditions are good.

Now it was a rainy day, and normally people don't bring on out their cameras into the rain, but if you get a little tricky and hold an umbrella over yourself with your free hand, you can get some really great shots that you normally wouldn't have! Don't let the weather scare you, unless of course it's a hurricane, then yeah, I'd leave the camera at home.

Here's Jaeden's way cute pictures...

Lauren and Ben

I can't tell you how excited I was about this wedding. Lauren and Ben found me through another of my brides, Mara, who has been so amazing in telling people about me... I seriously owe her!

Lauren and Ben were married at the St. Paul LDS Temple last weekend and it was such a pleasure to spend the day with them and their families. They had a seriously awesome reception as well. It was held at the Cinematic Ballroom where Buca's catered the event. They had dance lessons for the guests, where the wonderful teacher taught them how to waltz and salsa! I've always wanted to learn to salsa! I might have to go back and take lessons myself. I think everyone enjoyed the evening immensely. And this couple was serious about their dancing. Just watching them dance you knew they were made for each other.

I hope you two enjoy this sneak peek... just the beginning of wonderful images to come!
